May 2017 “Kansas City Rocket” AAPRCO Rare Mileage Special Train Wednesday May 17th: “Swift Stream” will be parked in Chicago at the Amtrak Facility in Roosevelt Yard. An Amtrak inspector and our own mechanic and car manager have just completed the annual PC-1 inspection, with no issues. We’re officially certified to operate on all Amtrak trains for another year now.

New lettering in the “New York Central” style replaces a Southern Pacific inspired version that had been on the car for the past couple of years.

Our winter home this year is going to be Kansas City Union Station. The car is in the process of being cleaned, drained, and closed up tight until travel season next spring.
